Currently, STAR is offering care (start times vary by district), Monday - Friday. In partnership with the school districts, STAR will be providing Distance Learning support for all students. STAR Education is a licensed child care provider, therefore must follow all COVID - 19 Guidance: Child Care Programs and Providers from California Department of Public Health STAR Families, As you probably have heard, Placer County has been placed on the state’s COVID-19 watch list. At this point, it is unknown how this change will affect STAR’s capacity and restrictions; therefore, STAR Galaxy enrollment will be postponed until further notice. It is our goal to be able to open enrollment the first week of August. STAR is committed to offering care at each campus, including in the event of a hybrid (part-time school) model. Sincerely, STAR Administration -- Information For Families Regarding COVID-19 We anticipate our 20/21 school year enrollment registration to start this summer. We are waiting to see what restrictions will be in place and what each school district will be doing for next school year due to COVID 19. Check back for more information. As of Monday, March 30th, STAR has opened emergency childcare programs for essential workers, as defined by the county and state. A list of essential employees can be found HERE. Due to ever-changing regulations, STAR Summer Camp enrollment has been suspended. Current childcare licensing safety regulations allow us to only offer care to essential employees through June 30th. This date may be moved earlier or later with changing regulations. We will be in touch as soon as we know what care we will be able to provide this summer as restrictions are lifted. STAR is constantly monitoring the situation and will be continuing to update programs as need and restrictions allow. California has allotted $50 million dollars to support essential families with childcare while the Stay at Home order remains in place. If you are an essential employee, please contact PCOE at childcare@placercoe.org or (530) 745-1380. This program is open to all essential employees and is not income restricted. STAR is open in Loomis, Lincoln, and Roseville/Granite Bay for essential childcare services and can accept PCOE payments.
